The Art of Creation

In my artwork there are two major things that I strive for.  The first one being a high focus on complexity and detail .  This can mean many different things such as accurately representing a subject with an accute attention to detail, an abundance of textures and complex design, or rendering in explicit detail, color, and form.  Everything that I make I try put my whole-hearted effort into and I strive for personal meaning and accomplishment with each completed project. 

 

The second, and more important aspect of my work, is the attempt to create a strong emotional connection with whoever is viewing my creations.  I want my pieces to resonate with the viewer, mostly in very harsh and shocking ways, not only to garner the viewer’s attention but to affect the way they look at the world.  I believe that opposites define each other and I try to use that concept in a lot of my work.  I’ll show you the horrors of pollution so that you’ll try to do better.  I’ll show you a ripped open chest with a still beating heart inside so that you’ll remember to feel your own heart.  I’ll show you death so that you don’t forget to live.
